Economic summit features Charles Kao
UW-River Falls will host an economic summit at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center, featuring a presentation by Charles Kao on "An Economic Perspective of U.S., China and Taiwan."
Kao is the founder and chairman of the Commonwealth Publishing Company in Taipei, Taiwan. He taught in the university's Economics Department from 1964 to 1998 and served as department chair from 1971 to 1980.
Kao was named the UW-RF Distinguished Teacher in 1974.
Cathy Wurzer, host of Morning Edition on Minnesota Public Radio and Emmy Award winning co-host of Almanac on Twin Cities Public Television, will serve as the summit moderator. Wurzer is a 1992 graduate of UW-RF.
The summit is sponsored by the UW-RF College of Business and Economics, John and Helen Huang, the St. Croix Valley Foundation, and the UW-River Falls Foundation.
