Honorary chairpersons announced for St. Croix Art & Culinary Show
The 13th Annual St. Croix Art & Culinary Show, sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Richmond, is slated to take place 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Ready Randy's (R&D) Banquet Center.
The theme this year is "Under the Big Top" so it will have a fun circus atmosphere.
This year's Honorary Culinary Chair will be Randy Calleja from Ready Randy's Sports Bar & Grill, while the Honorary Artist Co-Chairs will be Sarah Dudgeon and Barb Peterson. Dudgeon is the owner of Dudgeon Pottery and Peterson is a retired educator from New Richmond School District, a talented musician and piano teacher.
All Rotarians pledge to live by the motto "Service Above Self" and each year the members of the Rotary Club of New Richmond and countless other volunteers coordinate this event as the club's major fundraiser for the year. The moneys raised during this event are used primarily for the STRIVE Scholarship program and the Middle School Essay Contest. The STRIVE Program is an incentive to reward high school "Seniors Taking Responsibility Improving Virtually Everything." The Middle School Essay Contest rewards students who demonstrate effective composition skills as they address a topic based on the Rotary International annual theme. The 2018 theme was "Rotary: Making a Difference."
The Rotary Club will auction off another dream vacation at the Quetico Hill-Villa 33 at Red Frog Beach in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Included is a travel voucher for airfare donated by Travel Leaders-Travel Now in New Richmond. It is open to anyone attending the event that submits a bid at the live auction.
Tickets for the St. Croix Art & Culinary Show are on sale at newrichmondrotary.com, through the Rotary Facebook page, or at the following local business offices: Ready Randy's Sports Bar & Grill, Westfields Hospital & Clinic or the First National Community Bank. Tickets are $50 in advance or $55 at the door.
This event is organized by a large group of dedicated local volunteers and is led by Rotarian Jo Wrich and community volunteer Lisa Woletz, as Co-Chair People. Special acknowledgements go to the following committee members who have donated time and energy into the many months of pre-planning that lead up to the show: Jonathan Timm, Dan Hefferon, Wrich, Dr. Sue Johnson, Melanie Rowe, Woletz, Jackie Nelson and Carol De Young.
