Deerfield complex expansion continuing

Work on the new Deerfield Gables nursing home, which will be attached to The Deerfield complex in New Richmond, is continuing and the facility's opening is still slated for later in the summer

Progress toward the completion of the new Deerfield Gables care center is visible outside and in.

The new care center, located on the main Deerfield campus and adjacent to Westfields Hospital, is expected to open late this summer.

The new Deerfield Gables suites are grouped into four "households", each with its own household kitchen, dining room and activity center, creating a home-like environment. A private suite features a tea kitchen, bath with roll-in shower and most include a flat-screen TV. Shared suites have these same amenities and are designed with a wall dividing personal living space for individual privacy.

The care center is being built on the two stories above a new Town Center, located on the main level linking the existing buildings with the Gables.

The Town Center will feature a restaurant-style dining room, bistro and café, a clubroom, wellness center, style salon, library with a computer lab, a general store and an auditorium/chapel.

The Deerfield, owned and managed by Presbyterian Homes & Services, offers a full continuum of care including senior apartments, assisted living, memory care and long term skilled nursing care. Presbyterian Homes & Services, based in St. Paul, Minn., is a non-profit, faith-based organization providing a broad array of housing choices, care and service options for older adults. The organization serves more than 21,000 older adults in 37 locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
