Raise the Woof!
Ginger, a 3-year-old female collie, and Laddie, a 9-year-old male collie, wait patiently with owners Barb and Tim Kern of Stillwater for the May 3 Raise the Woof Animal Walk to start in Mary Park. Sixty participants raised $6,800 towards a new animal shelter in St. Croix County.

Health Center plans special events

National Nursing Home Week, for the St. Croix Health Center, will officially begin on Saturday, May 10. This week is set aside to honor the residents, staff, and volunteers that have contributed so many positive traits to our facility and the community.

Third annual senior's prom held at high school
The New Richmond High School Key Club sponsored the third annual senior's prom Monday afternoon. Residents of The Deerfield arrived by bus to attend the prom. Refreshments were served as the attendees danced and visited the afternoon away under the Eiffel Tower and Paris skyline left from the High School's junior prom Grand March. Brad Bischof (left) and Zach Zajec from Boy Scout Troop 460 are collect bags of food on their route in Southview. More than 310 New Richmond and Star Prairie Scouts and their families participated in the April 26 National Food Drive. Plastic bags were tied to doorknobs a few days before, with the request that non-perishable food items be left on the front porch for pick up by 9 a.m. Even as the snow came down, the Scouts were able to collect more than 2,500 pounds of food to donate to the Five Loaves food shelf.
