Folks participated in a silent auction as part of the fundraising opportunities at Collin’s Community Hero Day Saturday, Jan. 27. Hosted by New Richmond Fire & Rescue, the event commemorates Collin Fitzgerald who lost his life tragically in a snow plowing accident at the age of 4. The New Richmond Fire House was full of fun and laughter Saturday, Jan. 27 as folks flocked to the annual Collin's Community Hero Day event hosted by New Richmond Fire & Rescue. Kids and their parents feasted on cake, hotdogs and sloppy joes as they made their way in and out of fire trucks before watching a live demonstration by the St. Croix County K-9 team. Between face painting, ring-toss and fishing, kids got to try on fire gear and test their water skills with fire extinguishers.

Proceeds raised from the silent auction support local fire, police, ambulance and national guard members in need. The event commemorates Collin Fitzgerald who lost his life tragically in a snow-plowing accident at the age of 4.
