Steamy temperatures did not deter residents of New Richmond from attending a number of programs at local cemeteries to commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 28, 2018. Members of American Legion Butler-Harmon Post 80 joined members of VFW Post 10818 New Richmond / St. Croix County to perform color guard and rifle squad duties for the programs. Legion Post 80 auxiliary members assisted with the placing of memorial wreaths during the programs as well as preparing a free meal for community members following the programs. Boy Scouts from Troop 464 and Girl Scouts from Troop 5685 also participated in the programs helping to raise flags at the Veteran's Memorial at Victoria Park.
