Volunteers serve up more than 400 Thanksgiving dinners

More than 250 Thanksgiving meals were delivered to area residents and at least 150 more people were served at the Community Thanksgiving Dinner the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, Nov. 27. 

According to organizer Ronda Bierbrauer, more than 250 pounds of potatoes were peeled, mashed and cooked up, and 16 22-pound turkeys were cooked and carved up for the event. More than 200 volunteers assisted Bierbrauer and her team leaders Davyann Lee and Bryan Hop.

Bierbrauer said volunteers worked from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. through the afternoon on Thursday to put on the dinner. She expressed her gratitude to all the donors who made the event possible.
