Willow River summer programs announced

Summer programs at the Willow River State Park are as follows:

Willow River State Park presents Long, Skinny Snakes: Sunday July 3, from 1-3 p.m. Located at the beach picnic area. Welcome to the world of snakes of Wisconsin. Meet some of the snakes that you may find in the park, learn how snakes move, and how and what they eat. Event is FREE and vehicle admission into the park is required. Willow River State Park presents Questing Willow River: Monday, July 4, anytime from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Located at the Nature Center. So you think you are up for the challenge? Come explore Willow River in a way that you may never have before. Grab yourself (and some friends) to see if you can find the “Hidden Treasures” with just a few clues. Grab your phone or camera to take pictures of each treasure if you so choose. Event is FREE and vehicle admission into the park is required. Willow River State Park Universe in the Park: Friday July 8, from 8:30-10 p.m., located at the Nature Center. Come join the staff from the UW-Madison Astronomy department to learn about our night skies. Telescopes will be available after a short presentation to help get a better view of the skies. Willow River State Park presents Who’s Out At Night? Hike: Saturday, July 9, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Meet at the Nature Center. We will walk part of the Trout Brook Trail.

Experience Willow River State Park from a different point of view. When the sun goes down the woods, fields, and streams come to life. We will discuss nocturnal plants/animals and how they use their senses to their advantage. Event is FREE to attend and vehicle admission into the park is required. Willow River State Park presents Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Saturday, July 9, from 9-10 a.m.

Meet at the Nature Center. Take some time to yourself and experience yoga in the park. Join our yoga instructor, Kari, as you learn more about Vinyasa Flow Yoga in the beauty of the park.

Even if you have no experience, now is the time to enjoy and learn. Bring a beach towel if you do not have a yoga mat. All ages are encouraged to join us.
