Over the years, I've had so many people tell me that working at the library would be their dream job. I can't say I ever thought I would grow up to be a library director, especially because anyone who knows me, knows I'm not the quietest person. Yes, I've been shushed by patrons before-shock! However, I do feel blessed to be able to work in this community and share life with so many fantastic people that walk through our doors. I believe we have the best staff that strives to give great customer service and the team gets to do jobs that are best suited for their skillsets. Why am I telling you this? Because we actually have an opening to work at the library on Saturdays, so if you are interested and want to find out more, please email me at for more information. You never know, almost seven years ago I applied to work here because Brenda had mentioned it in her news column and my husband told me to apply — even though I'm kind of a loud character.

The Author Night at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, will be featuring James Campbell — an author, adventurer and producer. He is a native of Wisconsin and has written stories for Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Military History, Backpacker, Audubon, Field and Stream, and many other magazines and newspapers. His newest book, "Braving It: A Father, A Daughter and an Unforgettable Journey into the Alaskan Wild" was released in May 2016. Campbell is the co-executive producer of the Discovery Channel series, "The Last Alaskans," which was inspired by his first book, "The Final Frontier." He is a man of many talents and we are excited to have him join us in Roberts. Clear your calendar and join us for a night of adventure.
