ALERT: Flash flood watch issued for western Wisconsin
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.
The watch includes St. Croix, Pierce, Pepin, Dunn, Barron, Eau Claire and Rusk.
Officials fear that additional heavy rainfall is expected to fall on already saturated soils from rains earlier this week that could potentially lead to localized flooding.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Residents in these counties should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
