ALERT: Winter advisory issued for St. Croix County
More snow and wintry weather is in store for St. Croix County residents.
A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.
Snow is expected to develop across western Minnesota this evening, according to the National Weather Service, and spread eastward across central and south central Minnesota overnight The snow will likely reach west central Wisconsin by daybreak Friday.
Snowfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches will be common across the advisory area by Friday evening, which includes locations along and south of the northern Twin Cities to Eau Claire, Wis. line.
Snow will persist through the day on Friday and gradually taper off on Friday evening. Northwest winds will become gusty in the wake of the snowfall on Friday night, which could result in areas of blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
