ALERT: Winter advisory issued for St. Croix County
Sunday's predicted storm amounted to nothing in these parts. Another shot at winter weather is knocking on the door for tomorrow.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for St. Croix County by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The NWS predicts that snow and blowing snow will be an issue for motorists during that time.
Rain is expected to transition to snow during the late afternoon and early evening hours on Tuesday across west central Wisconsin. Total snowfall accumulations will range from 1 to 3 inches by Wednesday morning. In addition, northwest winds will increase to around 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph Tuesday evening, and lead to significantly reduced visibilities through the night.
A winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use caution when traveling, especially in open areas.
