MADISON - St. Croix Central did not have a good quarterfinal round at the WIAA State Wrestling Meet at the Kohl Center.

All three of their wrestlers were beaten in the quarterfinals and will have to wrestle in the consolation round later this afternoon.

Cody Nyhagen lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Marinette's Jadin Bovin 3-1. Sectional champ Carl Moll lost his first state match 3-2 to Clay Fitzpatrick of Viroqua at 170, unable to get takedown late in the third period after Fitzpatrick had been penalized by the referee which cost him a point. Then Kyle Aaby was shutout 3-0 by Waupun's Brady Huenink at 182.

Consolation round match-ups include Nyhagen vs. Marshall senior Cole Hansen (42-6); Moll vs. senior Taylor Huenink of Waupun (41-4)and Aaby vs. senior Danny Dobbs of Melrose-Mindoro/Gale-Ettrick/Trempealeau (35-7).
