New Richmond girl, 14, charged with attempted homicide

Alvarez seeks Badgers-Notre Dame football series

Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez says he's trying to arrange a football series with Notre Dame between 2012-15.

Alvarez tells WTSO Radio in Madison he has spoken with Notre Dame's athletic director about filling some future vacancies the Irish will get and there's working being done on it.

He said Notre Dame is revamping its ongoing series with Purdue to play every other year instead of every year.

The Badgers have played the Fighting Irish 16 times, but not since 1964.

Notre Dame is 8-6-2 in its all-time series with Wisconsin.

Alvarez ran the Notre Dame defense in 1988 when the team won the national title. He left for Madison two years later and has continued a relationship with the school ever since.
