With Black Friday coming up at the end of the week, Farmington police chief Brian Lindquist hopes local shoppers will add one extra gift to their shopping lists: a gift to donate to Toys for Town.


This year's toy drive for families in need is already up and running, because the annual toy distribution will come up faster than usual this year.

"We're going to do it on Dec. 15, which is a week earlier," Lindquist said. "The next Saturday was too close to Christmas."

Michelle Leonard joined the Woodbury Bulletin staff in November, 2014, after 14 years covering news for the Bulletin's sister publication, the Farmington Rosemount Independent Town Pages.  Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications: News-Editorial from Mankato State University in 1991. She is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Clifford Larson Unit 189 of Farmington, and is the 2014-15 Third District President to the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota.
