Badger John Clay gets first start Saturday against Wofford
Running back John Clay will get his first start for Wisconsin on Saturday, when the Badgers host Wofford.
Coach Bret Bielema was not disappointed in previous starter Zach Brown, but he said Clay will give the Badger offense more momentum from the get-go.
Clay ran 72 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of Wisconsin's double-overtime win over Fresno State last Saturday.
And the red-shirt sophomore from Racine Park had 143 total rushing yards on 21 carries. Brown had 40 yards on nine carries, including an 11-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
Clay entered the summer as the Badgers' number-one running back but Brown won the job with a solid pre-season camp.
