Badgers will likely have Fredrick start at center on Saturday

Travis Fredrick will most likely start at center for Wisconsin again Saturday when the Badgers host Fresno State.

The freshman played in last week's opening victory over Northern Illinois, after junior center John Moffitt strained a pectoral muscle.

Moffitt returned to practice this week, but the coaches say he may not be ready to get back in the lineup.

When he does, Fredrick will return to a back-up guard spot.

Offensive line coach Bob Bostad is said the line was solid in pass protection last week but he's looking for improvement on running plays.

John Clay and Zach Brown combined for 94 yards on the ground last Saturday, with an average of 3.2 yards per carry.

Freshman receiver Kraig Appleton is expected to make his Badgers' debut tomorrow.

He sat out last week with a bad hamstring.

Redshirt freshman defensive end Brendan Kelly is also due back, after missing last week's contest with a groin injury.
