Bake sale aids cancer research
The St. Croix County Nursing Home residents and staff were busy last week baking for the American Heart Association.
The facility's annual bake sale, held Feb. 9, brought in $200 for the research and cure for heart disease.
About every 34 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a heart attack. Heart disease is America's No. 1 killer.
Some of the warning signs of heart disease may include uncomfortable pressure or pain in the center of one's chest; pain or discomfort in one or both arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach; shortness of breath; breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or light headedness.
