Barron County horse OK after being pulled from well
A horse in northwest Wisconsin is sore but otherwise OK after falling into a collapsed well.
It happened late Wednesday at Cory O'Brien's house near Prairie Farm in Barron County.
Authorities said the ground near the well collapsed and the horse fell into the hole.
Excavators used a backhoe to dig a trench and friends and neighbors joined rescuers to free the horse.
O'Brien's wife, Sandy, said the couple spent all of Wednesday looking for their horse named Dolly, and she might have spent the entire day in the well before being discovered around 5 p.m.
