Because we’re reading!
New Richmond Wisconsin 127 South Knowles Avenue 54017

Somerset Elementary students kicked off April with a reading assembly last Friday morning.

The theme for the month is “Because We’re Reading!,” based on the popular “Despicable Me” song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

The morning began with a video presentation and speech, followed by students going to the rooms of their last year’s teachers for story time. Kindergartners went to fourth-grade classrooms.

Earlier in the week, teachers picked students to sing sections of the song “Happy.” Nancy Dressel volunteered to go to each class and record kids singing two or three lines of the song for a video made for the assembly.
