Boys' prep state soccer tourney starts today; Hudson takes on Milwaukee Marquette

The state boys' high school soccer tournament opens today in Milwaukee and all three divisions will have new champions.

The Division 1 quarter-finals will be played today (Thursday) with eight teams hoping to replace Madison Memorial at the top.

Kenosha Tremper will take on Middleton in the opener at noon. Then it's Neenah against Kettle Moraine, De Pere against Wauwatosa West and Milwaukee Marquette against Hudson. Marquette has won five of the last seven titles.

Semi-final play opens Friday in Divisions 2 and 3.

Division 2 champion Appleton Xavier and Division 3 titlist Milwaukee Thomas More didn't make it back this year.
