Brewers may take beer out of clubhouse
The Brewers are thinking about banning beer from their clubhouse.
That not may not sound right for a team from one of America's beer capital, but Brewers' official Tyler Barnes says the recent death of St. Louis reliever Josh Hancock heightens everyone's awareness of what alcohol can do.
Media reports say Hancock might have been impaired when he slammed his SUV into a stopped tow-truck on a St. Louis freeway early last Sunday.
The Cardinals flew to Hancock's hometown in Mississippi right after they lost to the Brewers on Wednesday and they attended Hancock's memorial service Thursday.
Beer is the only alcoholic beverage allowed in the Brewers' clubhouse and it's been that way for years. Teams can also have beer in their locker rooms on the road.
