Prince Fielder drove in both Milwaukee runs with a pair of two-out singles.

And Braden Looper threw seven shutout innings, giving up four hits and three walks with a strikeout.

The win improves Looper's record to 9-4, and he's now 3-0 this month.

Trevor Hoffman threw a perfect ninth for his 22nd save.

Virgil Vasquez took the hard-luck loss for Pittsburgh, giving up both runs and nine hits in six and two-thirds innings. He's now 1-4.

Craig Counsell had two singles and a double, and he scored twice for the Brewers - who are now 3-3 since the All-Star break.

Delwyn Young and Adam LaRoche each doubled for the Pirates, who lost their second game in their last five.

The Brewers and Pirates will close out their series today with an 11:35 first pitch at PNC Park. Right-hander Jeff Suppan faces Pittsburgh lefty Paul Maholm.
