Bucks close to signing back-up center
The Milwaukee Bucks appear to be close to signing free agent back-up center Francisco Elson.
The seven-footer has a championship ring with the San Antonio Spurs and he split time last season between the Spurs and Seattle.
The 32-year-old Elson also played three seasons in Denver, where his agent Calvin Andrews said an oral agreement has been reached with the Bucks.
Andrews said a deal could be completed sometime today (Friday).
Elson is thought to be a better choice on offense than the Bucks' current backup center, Dan Gadzuric.
Elson has started in about a-third of his 334 career NBA games. He has career averages of about four points and four rebounds per contest.
Elson is a native of Rotterdam in the Netherlands and he became the first Dutch national to win an NBA title in 2007 with San Antonio.
