Bucks open training camp in a week
The Milwaukee Bucks open their training camp a week from today and they're still not sure how much center Andrew Bogut will able to take part.
Bogut is struggling to recover from a stress fracture in his lower back that caused him to miss the final Bucks' 31 games last season.
Bogut says there's still discomfort, and he may end up feeling it for the rest of his life. Bucks' coach Scott Skiles says he's confident that Bogut will be ready for Milwaukee's regular season opener at Philadelphia Oct. 30.
Skiles says the 7-foot Bogut is on his way to being 100 percent, and the team is trying to be smart about his recovery.
Bogut averaged about 12 points and 10 rebounds in 36 games with Milwaukee last season.
His last game was on Jan. 31.
Skiles says he might hold Bogut and Michael Redd out of certain practices and exhibition games this fall, just to pace themselves.
Redd is coming off a torn knee ligament.
