Burlington Catholic takes Div. 4 WIAA baseball title; other games rain-delayed
Burlington Catholic Central won the Division 4 state high school baseball championship Thursday, beating Rosholt 11-6.
The game had a three hour rain delay at Fox Cities' Stadium near Appleton.
Central broke a tournament record for all divisions with 11 stolen bases. Rosholt committed five errors.
The Division 3 title game was next, but it only went two-plus innings before rain washed out the rest of the day.
Marathon and defending champion La Crosse Aquinas will resume play at 9 a.m. this (Friday) morning, with the game tied at 3.
After that, West De Pere and Prairie du Chien will play for the Division 2 crown.
Then the Division 1 title game will pit Kenosha Bradford against defending champion Kimberly.
