Car fire stops traffic in New Richmond Wednesday

It was a busy day for emergency crews in New Richmond Wednesday.

The police and fire department were dispatched to a car fire at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1. The front end of a car was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

No one was injured in the incident, which occurred in the eastbound lane of Highway 64 at the intersection of Highway 65 (Knowles Avenue) on the northern edge of the city. Traffic in the eastbound lane was diverted around the incident for several minutes.

The fire was extinguished and the car was later towed.
