Career seminars offered at WITC
Considering choices for a first career, thinking about changing careers or want to get ahead in a present career? Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College plans free career seminars the third Tuesday of the month at its New Richmond campus.
Free career seminars are set for Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 20, April 17, and May 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. To register for a free career seminar, call WITC-New Richmond at 715-246-6561.
Individuals of all ages benefit from a career seminar as information about choosing a career and educational options are presented. The seminar consists of self-evaluation, personality assessments, career clusters interest inventory, labor market trends, employability skills, goal setting and career decision-making.
WITC Career Specialist Joanne Kocik facilitates these seminars. She has extensive experience in career development, and a passion for motivating people.
For those unable to attend these seminars, WITC offers a free online career assessment at witc.edu/career. The 10-minute questionnaire helps identify which career areas might be best.
It is also possible to schedule a visit with a counselor at a WITC campus. Individuals may complete the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory for a nominal fee. The counselors will discuss the results of the assessments, past employment, education, personal experiences, and interests to assist in making a career choice and plan of education.
