Carnival full of family fun at SCCMS
Around 250 people attended the family fun night carnival at St. Croix Central Middle School on April 26.
The event was hosted by the St. Croix County Early Childhood Interagency Council to provide parents with a free family event to enjoy with their children.
"The carnival provided parents with some activities to do with their children, as well as some resources from area community organizations that they could get information on," said early childhood special education teacher Amie Gafner.
Among the list of activities were a bounce house, obstacle course, games, crafts and more.
Any family in St. Croix County with children ages 0-8 could attend the event.
This was the first time SCC hosted the carnival, but it is the eighth year that the Early Childhood Interagency Council has put on a family fun event around St. Croix County. There were also carnivals held at Somerset and Glenwood City this year.
St. Croix Central Schools and Baldwin Schools helped organize the event at the St. Croix Central Middle school.
Gafner said there were also many volunteers from the Early Childhood Interagency Council who helped set up and run the event.
Gafner said organizers were happy with his year's event.
"We had a great turn out and when you see the children smiling, laughing and families having fun together, it makes it all worth it," she said.
