The St. Croix Valley Collectors Association will hold its 29th annual Barn Dance & Threshing Bee and Tractor Pull Aug. 16-17 at the Village Park in Roberts

Saturday events

  • Music by Trigger Happy starts at 7 p.m. in Village Park (312 Park St.)

Sunday events

  • Threshing and exhibits begin at 10 a.m.
  •  Pedal Pull for kids and adults kicks off at 10:30 a.m.
  •  Registration begins at 11 a.m. for St. Croix Valley Pullers. Entry fee is $25 for all classes. Classes include Antique (1957 and older, weights 2,500-7,000 pounds); Classic (1972 and older, weights 3,500-9,500 pounds); Improved (1957 and older, weights 4,500-6,000 pounds); and Power Puff (4,500 pounds 3 mph.) All pullers are welcome.

  •  Root beer floats with homemade ice cream, pork sandwiches and sweet corn will be served at noon. Bring a dish to pass.
  •  Parade at 2 p.m. The Slow Tractor Race will follow the parade.

Sarah Young was appointed the editor of the Pierce County Herald in February 2015. She joined RiverTown Multimedia in October 2013 as a news reporter for the New Richmond News, where she covered community events, spot news and education in Hammond, Roberts, Somerset and St. Croix County Circuit Court.
