Central to have rematch with B-W, Somerset hosts Unity
St. Croix Central's football team will take on Baldwin-Woodville again as the Panthers and Blackhawks were paired up in a Level 1 match-up in the WIAA Playoffs.
The undefeated Panthers are the top seed in their bracket of the Division 4 playoffs. They will take on B-W this weekend. The 'Hawks are 5-4 overall, which includes a 48-20 loss to the Panthers in the second game of the regular season. Baldwin-Woodville had to beat New Richmond last week just to qualify while Central won its first outright Dunn-St. Croix title since 1988.
Also in the same bracket, Somerset is a No. 3 seed and will host Unity. The Spartans are 8-1, their lone loss coming to Prescott, are have won their fifth straight Middle Border Conference title in a row. Unity is 5-4 overall and come into the game losers of three of their last four contests.
New Richmond and Hudson will find out their playoff pairings tomorrow after a judge delivers a ruling on whether the Shorewood-Milwaukee Messmer coop team is eligible for the playoffs.
