Church readies for dinner event
The sixth annual Evening Affair dinner, "A Starry Night," will be held Friday, Sept. 14, in the fellowship hall at the New Richmond United Methodist Church.
Started by Pearl Christensen and the United Methodist Women in 2006, the sit-down dinner features tables decorated in many different themes.
Over the years, volunteers have created tables celebrating, among other things, floral gardens, patriotic events and even the Green Bay Packers.
The menu this year includes a mixed greens salad, baked chicken breast on a bed of long grain and wild rice, green beans amandine, seven-grain rolls and dessert.
The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., but guests are encouraged to arrive any time after 6 p.m. to enjoy a glass of punch, view the many different beautifully decorated tables and visit with friends and neighbors.
The dinner is open to the public with a suggested donation of $15 per person. Reservations are strongly recommended and may be made by calling the church office at 715-246-2464.
