New Richmond girl, 14, charged with attempted homicide

County board seeks to fill vacant seat

Due to the death of Gene Ruetz, St. Croix County Supervisory District 7 no longer has representation on the county board.

County Board Chairman Daryl Standafer is seeking a replacement for the position. He will gather the names of potential candidates for the District 7 seat through Feb. 1.

Standafer will then recommend a possible replacement to the county board at its March 1 meeting. The person recommended will need to be confirmed by a majority of the county board.

Anyone who is a qualified elector and resident of District 7 is welcome to place their name in nomination. If chosen to fill the seat, the person will complete the unexpired portion of the 2010-2012 term.

County Supervisory District 7 is made up of Ward 1 in the Town of Richmond; Wards 1 and 2 in the Town of Somerset; Wards 1 and 2 in the Town of Warren; and Wards 1-3 in the Village of Roberts.

Anyone interested in serving is asked to contact Standafer at 715-386-4605 or County Clerk Cindy Campbell at 715-386-4610. They should be prepared to state their interest and qualifications.

Interested persons may also contact Standafer in writing at 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, WI 54016 or via e-mail at daryls@co.saint-croix.wi.us.
