Dunn County man charged with 1971 Ohio murder
The Dunn County man arrested on Saturday has now been charged with murder and will be extradited to Ohio.
Working in conjunction with the Wisconsin Criminal Investigation Division and investigators from the Montgomery County (Ohio) Sheriff's Department, Dunn County deputies arrested Robert J. Sosnoskie, 62 in his home in the Town of Tiffany.
In a press conference held Monday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, Montgomery County authorities said they have charged Sosnoskie with the June 1971 slaying of Perry Smith.
Montgomery County authorities say the homicide took place at Perry's residence located on Sinclair Street in Harrison Township, Ohio. Smith was 76 years old.
Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says that Sosnoskie was cooperative at the time of his arrest and is currently being held in Dunn County jail.
According to the Dunn County Clerk of Court office, Sosnoskie did not contest his extradition at his hearing held Monday afternoon.
Smith and Montgomery County officials would not comment on how Sonsoskie was tracked down because of pending court proceedings.
