Edina Realty office moves to new neighborhood
Don't count Edina Realty employees among those who think the local real estate market is in a downswing.
As the office celebrated its grand opening at its new office on Highway 65 east of Wal-Mart, the atmosphere inside was decidedly upbeat.
"This shows our belief in the New Richmond housing market," said Fred Schmidt, regional manager. "We're serious about our commitment to New Richmond. We do intend to expand and grow with New Richmond."
Schmidt said the real estate office has experienced a "flattening" of the market in recent months, but Edina employees in Western Wisconsin recorded a record month in July.
The activity in the area market has picked up as existing home prices have moderated, he noted.
"We haven't experienced a downturn," he said. "It's really all about price, that's the key."
The Edina office, which was previously located on Highway 64 on the western edge of town, moved to its new site near Wal-Mart for various reasons, according to Brent Wernlund, sales manager and broker.
"Traffic count, retail area and visibility," he said. "This place has all of that."
Nine real estate agents will operate out of the new location.
Edina Realty offers the full range of real estate services, including title closings and mortgages.
