New Richmond girl, 14, charged with attempted homicide

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Teske, age 85 of New Richmond, Wis., died peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.

Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ella Gillen; sisters, Catherine Gillen and Virginia Rubow; brothers, Charles "Bud" Gillen and sister-in-law Marion E. Gillen and Hugh Gillen.

Survived by husband of 60 years, Chester; sons, Thomas, Brian (Sandy); daughters, Nancy (Jack) Petschl, Jayne Linder, and Ann (Roger) Hefty; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Cliff (Jeanne) Teske and Gerald Rubow; sister-in-law, Alice Gillen; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was an active member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 51 years. Betty enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. She loved to be outside on her family swing while soaking up the sun and watching the flowers grow.

Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Star Prairie, Wis. Memorials preferred to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
