Favre to skip mini-camp because of graduation
Brett Favre will skip the Green Bay Packers' mandatory mini-camp this weekend, to help his oldest daughter Brittany get ready for her high school graduation.
The 37-year-old quarterback was not expected to practice anyway, because he's recovering from ankle surgery a few weeks ago. Brittany graduates on May 25th.
Favre was interviewed by his close friend Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun-Herald in Mississippi, after the three-time MVP denied reports Monday that he asked to be traded.
He admitted getting frustrated after the draft, when the Packers failed to get Oakland receiver Randy Moss and Favre told Jones he spoke with both Packers' General Manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy following the uproar the trade report caused.
Jones said Favre insisted to him that it wouldn't be right for him to play anywhere else but Green Bay.
"They understand that I am frustrated. They also know I'm loyal to the organization, and I want to win," said Favre.
