Field reduced to three for county administrator
The nearly six-month vacant St. Croix County administrator's position is closer to being filled.
The announcement of three finalists was presented to the county board's committee of the whole Thursday morning. The position has been empty since the end of December when Chuck Whiting resigned to take a job in Minnesota.
The three include Patrick Thompson, the current county administrator for Hamilton County in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bill Reynolds, most recently the deputy county commissioner for Washtenaw County in Chelsea, Mich., in the Ann Arbor area and Charlene Stevens, currently the deputy county manager for Sedgwick County in Witchita, Kan.
Stevens was reportedly offered the job as Willmar, Minn., city administrators, May 11 and was the leader among six candidates for that position. She previously served in administrative positions in Pennsylvania.
Tammy Funk, county human resources administrator, said the final candidate is expected to be presented for board approval at its regular June 7 meeting, however a finalist could be chosen in time for a special meeting expected to be held May 25 to approve a temporary redistricting plan.
