Fire & Ice celebration turns a snowy success
New Richmond Wisconsin 127 South Knowles Avenue 54017

The first Fire and Ice event at the Starr Elementary School started out with fairly nice weather before the snow started late afternoon on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Attendees were able to construct ice sculptures out of colored ice molds. Spray bottles of water were provided to "glue" them together into different configurations.

At the other end of the outdoor skating rink, paint brushes and paint were set out for people to paint on the snow. Spray bottles of paint were also on hand to decorate the surrounding snowbanks.

The "fire" of the event was provided by a fire pit beside the warming house. Hot cocoa and baked goods were available inside for a small fee.

Messes and Masterpieces, a organization that is dedicated to providing creative opportunities for people of all ages, hosted the event.
