Gardeners offer solutions for real garden problems
The St. Croix Valley Master Gardeners will meet Thursday, May 24. The meeting will feature "Real Solutions to Real Problems."
A Flower Garden Design Group started in 2011 will provide solutions to common flower garden design dilemmas. Not happy with your garden, want to learn some new tricks or some basic design principles to improve your flower gardens and yard? These are the people to listen to. The group began last spring learning the basic principles of garden design, and then applying them in their own gardens.
Learn about the issues they faced and how the group was able to resolve them. The presenters, all SCVMGA members, include JoAnn Ryan, Deb Pederstuen, Peg Wastell. Kerry Christopherson, Joanne Kowalcyk, Karen Jilek, Robyn Wefel, Heather Lane, and Pat Tremaine.
The meeting will be held at the Unitarian Society Church, N8010 Highway 65, River Falls, starting at 6:45 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
Master Gardeners will begin the Community Garden season with the New Richmond Service Day May 18. New Richmond High School students help kickoff the garden season each year by installing the initial irrigation and plastic mulch, and planting the early vegetables. The Community Garden annually gives away more than one ton of produce to various groups and agencies around St. Croix, Pierce and Polk counties.
