Getting artsy on the land
Fourth graders at St. Croix Central Elementary School used snow as an art medium on Friday, Jan. 6. This was the first year for the Land Art project, led by art teacher Jason Rohde.
Students built mounds or dug trenches in the snow to create a shape. After that, they used a watered down tempura paint to spray some color onto the shape. Artwork created includes a Monster drink can, an alligator, a baseball bat, a hermit crab, a snake with a guitar on its back and a hippo.
