Larissa Christenson was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner, according to a sheriff's department news release. Court records indicate she lived in River Falls as recently as last summer.

The driver of the Explorer, Steven Tudahl, also of Glenwood City, was southbound on Hwy. 63 north of CTH S in the town of Cylon when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound 1998 Buick Lasabre driven by Amy Dwyer, 26, of Clear Lake.

Dwyer and her two passengers, Noah Dwyer, 3, and Jaydin Dwyer, 4, were all transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul by New Richmond EMS and a pair of medical helicopters. One aircraft was landed at the scene and a second met EMS personnel at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.

Tudahl fled the scene on foot and was located a short time later near Precision Ag by sheriff's deputies. He was then transported to the New Richmond hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries.

Court records show Tudahl was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a pending felony charge of intimidation or threatening someone and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, damage to property and obstructing or resisting an officer. Previous residences include Menomonie, New Richmond and Cottage Grove, Minn. He is scheduled for a court appearance on April 20th.

Dwyer was wearing a seat belt and both children were in car seats, according to the sheriff's department. Christenson was not belted and it isn't known whether Tudahl was, deputies said.

Conditions of the injured weren't available Saturday afternoon.

Deer Park firefighters responded to the scene, along with New Richmond Fire & EMS, Baldwin EMS and three State Patrol officers, who are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Christenson's death is the third on St. Croix County roads in 2009.
