'Grease' is the word at NRHS this weekend
After almost three months of rehearsals, New Richmond High School will perform the musical "Grease" this weekend, Nov. 13-15.
When seniors Natalie Skoglund and Samantha Kizer got word of the "Grease" performance, the two jumped at the chance to audition.
"It's 'Grease!'" Skoglund said. "It's like the 'High School Musical' of the 50s. It's just a fun musical and easy to get involved in."
The story of "Grease," which will be performed this weekend in the high school's Little Theater, takes place at Rydell High School.
For Kizer, auditioning for the part of Sandy was a no-brianer.
"She's my favorite character," she said.
Performances are Nov. 13-14 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased in the music department or by calling 243-1239.
After the performance opening night, the community will be invited to a sock hop where members of the cast will be available for a meet and greet. Burgers, hot dogs, chips and ice cream floats will be available for purchase and music will be played for dancing.
