Acting on a request from the Washington County Fugitive Task Force, officers from the New Richmond Police Department went to a residence on the 200 block of North Arch Avenue in New Richmond to serve two felony warrants to Chad Perry, 32, Hastings.

The felony warrants included one from Dakota County for terroristic threats and one from Washington County for fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

Perry was suspected to be living at the residence. However, when officers arrived they only found two people who admitted to knowing Perry, but said he was staying in Minnesota.

Officers saw Perry inside the residence and entered the home, but were not able to immediately locate him. However, they did find Perry's wallet, identification card and a suitcase with clothing that would be his size.

The officers continued searching the house and found Perry hiding under a bed where a young boy was sleeping.

Perry was arrested and transported to the St. Croix County Jail and then extradited to Minnesota on Jan. 22. He is currently in the Washington County Jail.

Court records show that Perry has previously been convicted in Minnesota for fifth-degree harassment and violation of a restraining order, domestic assault and drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
