Health Center plans special events
National Nursing Home Week, for the St. Croix Health Center, will officially begin on Saturday, May 10. This week is set aside to honor the residents, staff, and volunteers that have contributed so many positive traits to our facility and the community.
Some of the events include:
Saturday, May 10 - Mother's Tea with Lori will begin at 10 a.m. in the Social Room. A special program presenting: 'A Look at Mother's Pearls,' should be fun and will provide socializing for everyone. So, if you have those pearls tucked away, please bring them along for your Mom and you. We will again be using lovely tea cup and saucer sets, so if you have a special one, please bring it along.
Sunday, May 11 - Have a wonderful Mother's Day, corsages will be furnished to all nursing home ladies on Sunday morning.
Monday, May 12 - We're very excited to announce a visit at 10 a.m. from the Minnesota Raptor Center, with a presentation on helping and understanding our birds of prey. Come and see the birds!
Tuesday, May 13 - At 3 p.m. our Local Union will be providing root beer floats to one and all who pass through. It's a good time to visit!
Wednesday, May 14 - At 10 a.m. we'll be hosting a visit from friends at the Deerfield. At 7 p.m. everyone is invited to join us for a dance with Heutmaker & Friends.
Thursday, May 15 - At 3 p.m. we'll meet in the first floor dining room to listen to the wonderful music stylings of local musician, Dave Swanson. If you haven't heard Dave before, we promise you'll enjoy his presentation of many all time favorites.
Friday, May 16 - With springtime comes our Spring Craft Sale, from 8-4 in the Social Room. This is a consignment sale, so if you or someone you know would be interested in bringing items please contact the Activity Dept. at ext. 8277. All items sold will be on a 10 percent consignment basis. All proceeds will go to the resident fund account. If you're not a crafter, be a shopper!
We hope that many of you will be able to join us for some of these special days. Social events, spent with family and friends, bring about happiness in the lives of our residents that cannot be measured. Only one letter goes out per resident, so please pass this information on to others that you feel may be able to attend. We look forward to sharing this week with you. The more, the merrier!
