Heritage Weekend approaches
The 23rd Annual Heritage Weekend is on Sept. 26, 27 and 28 at the Heritage Center in New Richmond.
Friday, Sept. 26, is the annual spaghetti dinner served in the Pavilion. The food is homemade, and seating is from 4:30-7 p.m. Dinner for adults is $7, children 11 and under are $3.
Saturday, Sept. 27, is the Fall 5Mile/5K Run and Health Walk. The races begin and end at the Heritage Center, including a 1 Mile Kids Race. Registration can be done in advance by calling 715-247-5995. You can also sign up that morning starting at 7 a.m. in the Pavilion. The Run/Walk will begin at 8 a.m. and will cover both city streets and country roads. Kids Race will start at 8:45 a.m.
Sunday, Sept. 28, is the Heritage Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is always plenty to see and do; the historic buildings will be open, there are stagecoach rides and pony rides for a small fee from noon - 4 p.m., kids' activities and games, a petting zoo, a craft sale and traditional and modern craft demonstrations along with a bit of living history.
There will be wandering entertainers and good food on the grounds as well as the Farmstead Flea Market open for your enjoyment, and much more.
The Heritage Center is still accepting registrations for free space for crafters and artisans. Non-profit organizations from around the area are also invited to set up a booth to get your message out to the public.
