High school Forensics takes second at home tourney
New Richmond Wisconsin 127 South Knowles Avenue 54017

The New Richmond Forensics Team was at the top of its game at its home tournament on Saturday, Feb. 22, where they placed second.

Menomonie took first place, while Baldwin-Woodville finished third out of 10 teams. Three teams cancelled because of the weather, including Northwoods, Ellsworth and Pepin.

Despite the ice, cold and snow, the New Richmond students stepped up their game and had many placewinners, ultimately earning them second place.

Individual winners were; Josie Bessac, fifth place in Demonstration (Infinity bracelets); Abby Martin, fourth place in Demonstration (cameras); Aaron Tenner, fifth place in Extemporaneous Speaking; Breelyn Karno, fifth place in Farrago and third place in Four Minute; Ally Halonen, first place in Four minute; Brenna Connolly, fifth place in Four minute; Hailey Bessac, fifth place in Poetry and fifth place in Play-acting; Allie Hassler, fourth place in Prose and fifth place in Playacting; Emily Kukacka, fifth place in Prose; Mikayla Gefeke, second place in Solo-acting; Isabella Kilibarda, fifth place in Playacting; Mya Ennis second place in Special Occasion; Emily Miller, third place in Special Occasion; Christian Martin, first place in Radio; Tanner Yehlik, third place in Radio; Caleb Medchill, fourth place in Radio.

Coaches Danette Tellijohn and Sarah Fastelin were very pleased and proud to be taking all 25 entries allowed by state to the sub-district contest at Prairie Farm on Saturday, March 1. The next invitational will be at Prescott on March 8, followed by District at Menomonie on March 22. Congratulations to an awesome 2014 NRHS Forensics Team and good luck in upcoming competitions.
