Hudson man killed in New Year's Day crash

A Hudson man was killed in an early morning crash on New Year's Day just south of New Richmond.

Taylor J. Casey, 19, was headed south on County Road A when he lost control of his vechicle, entered the east ditch and rolled over just south of West Richmond Way, according to a press release issued by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office. Casey, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle, and a St. Croix County Medical Examiner pronounced him dead at the scene. Antonio L. Bloomquist, 19, of Hudson, was a passenger in the vehicle and was not injured, according to the release. 


Emergency workers from the New Richmond Police Department, New Richmond Fire & Rescue and New Richmond Area Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
