Huge numbers rolled this winter at Gibby's Lanes
It was an unprecedented winter of success for bowlers at Gibby's Lanes in New Richmond.
There were 15 300 games bowled during the 2010-11 winter season at Gibby's. That's the most 300 games in any season since Gibby's opened in 2005.
There were also five 800 series bowled at Gibby's this winter. That breaks the record for 800s in a winter season.
Derik Thibodeau was the most successful bowler at Gibby's this winter. Thibodeau rolled two 300 games, on Oct. 6 and Jan. 22. He had a total of five games where he finished with scores of 290 or higher.
Thibodeau also finished with the highest series at Gibby's this season, totaling an 826 on March 2. That was the second 800 series of Thibodeau's season. He finished with an 801 on Jan. 22.
Thibodeau wasn't the only bowler to roll two 300 games this season. Michael Feist also accomplished that feat, with 300s on Dec. 22 and Feb. 23.
Other bowlers who rolled 300 games this winter include Joe Olson, Dave Brandt, Scott Schuenemeyer, Chad Merrill, Doug Peterson, T.J. Huber, Mark Schroeder, Mike Elwood and Brandon Getschel.
The other 800 series this season were an 811 by Chris Heinbuch in March 11, an 815 by Dave Brandt on Oct. 27 and an 825 by Jake Sander on April 25.
The highest series on record at Gibby's is an 848 that was rolled by Mark Oldenburg in January 2010.
The top women's games at Gibby's this winter were a 247 by Amber Holle and a 243 by Amy Gustafson. Gustafson rolled a 618 to earn the top women's series. Logan Peterson was next, with a 610 series.
