Junior Miss candidates square off at Ox Cart Days

Seven candidates have decided to run for this year's Junior Miss Star Prairie title.

The winner will be announced at the Ox Cart Days pageant and coronation at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.

Following are the biographical sketches of each candidate.

Kally Hinz, sponsored by Main Street Pizza, is the daughter of Joe and Heather Hinz. Her siblings are Amber, Jana and Trevor. She attends the fifth grade at Amery Intermediate school.

Interests: "Nature, science, horseback riding, dance, skating, meeting new friends, theater and reading books."

What would you like to be when you are older: "Vet."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I am interested in running for this title because I would like to meet the people of this town and meet new friends, have fun and help out around the community."

Emily Greening, sponsored by Powers Sanitation, is the daughter of Jeff and Dawn Greening. Her siblings are Sara, Ashley, Lindsay, Hanna and John. She is an eighth-grader at New Richmond Middle School.

Interests: "I like to be with friends and learn new things. I enjoy dancing, softball, meeting new friends and being with friends and family."

What would you like to be when you are older: "Ever since I was little I always wanted to be a neonatal nurse. I enjoy being around babies and I always will."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I would love to represent Star Prairie and it would be an amazing experience. I'm always up for meeting new people. I love going dress shopping and this would be a great opportunity. I'm always doing something to help out my community to make it even better and I will help out Star Prairie to make it even better."

Kailynn Ebert, sponsored by Dr. Eric Bohl, D.V.M., is the daughter of Jim and Page Peterson. Her siblings are Bailey and Imagin. She is a sixth-grader at Osceola Intermediate School.

Interests: "Taking care of my grandma's animals, singing and dancing."

What would you like to be when you are older: "I would like to be a veterinarian when I grow up."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I've always wanted to be in a parade, going to all of them and meeting new people sounds fun to me."

Megan Denno, sponsored by River's Edge, is the daughter of Andy and Dawn Denno. She has one sibling, Bob. She attends the sixth grade at New Richmond Middle School.

Interests: "Swimming, dancing, singing, playing with my pets and playing with my BFF Abby."

What would you like to be when you are older: "A vet."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "Because I think it would be fun because I would be able to represent the town I have grown up in and known for so long."

Allie Larson, sponsored by JJ's Outpost Bar & Grill, is the daughter of Sara Larson and Ed Olson. She is a fifth grader at Osceola Intermediate School.

Interests: "I like to play with my pets, bike, sing, dance, read and play with my friends."

What would you like to be when you are older: "I want to be a vet or doctor."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I would like to serve my community and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and I would like to become more outgoing."

Maddie Melby, sponsored by Clear Choice Printing, is the daughter of Kevin and Christine Melby. Her siblings are Jeremiah and Lydia. She attends fifth grade at New Richmond Middle school.

Interests: "My favorite subject in school is math. My favorite things to do out of school is drawing, reading, swimming, hanging out with animals, take pictures, play with my friends and camping."

What would you like to be when you are older: "I would like to be a photographer or a vet."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I want to run because I want to make new friends and go to different places."

Kaylee Bebeau, sponsored by Garden Expressions, is the daughter of Sandy and Joe Bebeau. Her siblings are Ryan and Sheena. She attends the seventh grade at New Richmond Middle School.

Interests: "Art, gym, science, hockey, playing, going to movies with friends, dance, swimming and dirt biking."

What would you like to be when you are older: "I would like to be either a neonatal, trauma or intensive care nurse."

Why are you interested in running for this title: "I am interested in running for Junior Miss because I am responsible, caring, trustworthy and think I would be a positive role model for my older and younger peers."
